University of Utah 2016 Scholarship Agreement Dear ECE, CE, CS, ME and Diversity Advisors, Please announce the following scholarship opportunity. Applications will be submitted to the Dean’s office outside of the normal scholarship process, per instructions below. Donation from L-3 Communications will provide two (2) $2,500 scholarships for University of Utah students who:
  • are a US Citizen
  • currently taking 12 credit hours per semester
  • are maintaining a 3.0 grade point average or better;
  • at least a sophomore status in declared major
  • have a declared major in one of the following: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or, Mechanical Engineering
  Preference will be given to students who:
  • are female
  • from underserved populations;
  • are disabled
  • demonstrated financial need through FAFSA
To apply, qualified candidates must provide a resume and one-page essay statement on their interest in their chosen field and future career plans. Additionally, the following questions need to be addressed:   1) Would you be interested in completing an internship at L-3 Communications?; 2) What is your knowledge about L-3?; 3) What is your knowledge about the NAACP?; 4) List organizations for which you are a member (school and community); 5) List any volunteer community work that you have done; and 6) If you were selected for this scholarship, could you attend the NAACP Salt Lake Branch’s Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Memorial Luncheon, Monday, January 16, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Little American Hotel, 500 South Main, Salt Lake City?
