The Office for Equity and Diversity commemorates the lives of the victims during the Holocaust with “U Remembers”— a weeklong event that reflects on the historical effects of genocide and pulls parallels from contemporary social issues of today. The week will include a student workshop, a campus and community panel discussion and a keynote address.

This year, U Remembers theme, “Misrepresented. Misunderstood.” focuses on how various misconceptions towards a religious community perpetuate religious discrimination. The misrepresentation and misunderstanding towards a religious group often stem from individuals, systemic institutions, political figures, mass media and much more.
