February 18 @ 6:00 pm 9:00 pm MST

poetic justice

Come to a very Intimate Open Mic Night put on by the Black Cultural Center and UBLAC. Special Guest Wynter Storm

Wynter Storm

Just a Jazzy Hippie, living life as a Touring Spoken Word Artist; and Published Author.  A love for rhythmic wordplay from a young age.  Genesis unknown… maybe my christian gospel upbringing, possibly my relationship with words encouraged through a fondness of reading, or could the catalyst have been the small school publication that chose to publish a young girl’s 1st contest submission…? Surely it was a combination of all of the above and so much more as my life as an artist, activist, and human being has unveiled to me on my journey to were we are together in this moment.

My journey to become an accomplished artist has been hallmarked most recently through my contributions to both my poetry and local communities.  The growth I gained traveling with SLC Slam Poetry Team and performing in Regional Poetry Contests and Community Events has been both encouraging and humbling; I look forward to working with you and your community for your next event.

At the heart of it all I do what I do to feed not only my passion for words… I do so to feed my passion for justice to people of all disenfranchised communities. For the passion I find in healing and in self-love; while not ignoring the essential need for strong community which creates resiliency.  We are in this together, stay strong!
