Weavings That Rupture

Floridalma Boj Lopez (Maya K’iche’) is an Assistant Professor at California State University, Los Angeles. She holds a doctorate in American Studies and Ethnicity from the University of Southern California. Her research looks at the ways Maya migrant communities attempt to survive transnational forms of genocide as they recreate communities and maintain cultural practices in the diaspora. Her work has been publish in Latino Studies and in the anthology U.S. Central Americans: Reconstructing Memories, Struggles, and Communities of Resistance.
