This inventory of campus restrooms is provided to ensure greater safety and privacy for transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming people when using a public restroom.

Pre-2015

Over the past several years, the LGBT Resource Center has maintained on its webpage a text list of gender-free bathrooms on this campus.

2015 – 2016

During the 2015-2016 academic year, the LGBT Resource Center began geolocating each bathroom on their list and matching them to pictures and text descriptions of how to find them, and any other pertinent details, in hopes of building a map.

March 2017

The LGBT Resource Center’s map was incorporated into the main University of Utah map as a toggle switch so that all people can find the nearest gender-inclusive bathroom without knowing to check the lgbt.utah.edu webpage first.

December 2018

Volunteers, LGBT Resource Center staff, and the University of Utah’s Facilities Management partnered to catalog campus restrooms for new signage and inclusion on the U’s campus map.
