The George Floyd Memorial Fund in the Black Cultural Center was established (2020) in response to a national call for action after the death of George Floyd. With your support, this fund will directly support students and programs committed to advancing the interest of the next generation of aspiring Black leaders such as the Black Student Union, Black Graduate Student Association, African Student Association, National Society of Black Engineers and others.
President Ruth Watkins announced June 10, 2020, the creation of the George Floyd Memorial Fund in the Black Cultural Center at the University of Utah.
Powered by the George Floyd Memorial Fund, the Black Cultural Center announced the establishment of Operation S.U.C.C.E.S.S. (Students United to Create Cultural and Educational Success Stories). This competitive, application-based program will focus on nurturing future leaders and empowering effective problem-solving skills at the University of Utah and the greater Salt Lake community.
