We have devoted significant resources to make you aware of key events and programs for your child’s college journey; for example: admissions, financial aid and scholarships, health insurance, student activities and class registration. We also have an advisor for our Parents & Families Program in the Center for Ethnic Student Affairs (CESA) to facilitate and enhance communication with you throughout the year(s).

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion values our parents and family members and the role they play in the lives of their students. The Parent & Family Partnership (PFP) in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion offer ways for parents and family members to stay informed and connected to the University of Utah community and their students. The Parents and Families Partnership (PFP) stays connected by organizing family campus visits, monthly email newsletters, and web updates to keep parents informed. We offer resources for you to understand your student’s experience at different stages in his or her collegiate career. To do this, we communicate regularly with families via our helpline, emails, digital newsletters, Facebook and website.

We believe that student success is enhanced when parents and family members engage in an effective working partnership with our institution. With that in mind, our Parent & Family Program strives to:

  • Building a partnership between the University, their students and their families.
  • Connect U of U parents and family members with opportunities for involvement and engagement to our campus resources and activities that promote the University and enrich their students’ college experience.
  • Make the college experience as positive for parents as it is for students.

Social Media & Newsletter

Our office makes frequent posts through our Facebook page, including information on important deadlines, upcoming parent-involvement events and happenings around campus. Parents typically use Facebook as another vehicle to reach our office and connect with other Families.
