Dr. Arvin, director of Pacific Islands Studies here at the U, is a Native Hawaiian feminist scholar who works on issues of race, gender, science and colonialism in Hawai‘i and the broader Pacific. At this workshop, we will be discussing ideas from a paper co-authored by Dr. Arvin titled, “Decolonizing Feminism: Challenging Connections Between Settler Colonialism and Heteropatriarchy.” Reading the paper before attending the workshop is *not* required.
