The mission of the University of Utah’s division for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) is to serve as a catalyst and a national leader for equity-centered campus transformation by ensuring equity, diversity, and inclusion are a part of everyone’s work and by living the practices that allow all to thrive.

The University of Utah strives to achieve the Seal of Excelencia, as Excelencia in Education’s key areas align with EDI’s priority areas:

The University of Utah has made significant advances in increasing the number of Latinx students enrolling at the university but continues to see areas of opportunities for engagement, retention, and graduation. The university remains committed to developing new ways to serve Latinx students with purpose, particularly in areas focused on increasing their sense of belonging and improving the University campus climate as a whole.
