Improve the experiences of students, faculty, and staff so that they know they belong.
Key Strategies
- Leverage Belonging Domains as primary resource to guide belonging work.
- Leverage Emerging HSI Taskforce and Excelencia to increase belonging for Latinx students.
- Position the Center for Equity and Student Belonging and other EDI centers as resources for students to connect to faculty and staff along with other meaningful campus communities that affirm, acknowledge, and celebrate their authentic selves.
- Leverage EDI Strategy Council to outline indicators of staff and faculty belonging.

- Outline indicators of student belonging with campus partners (Student Affairs, EDI cultural centers, etc.) to understand how we measure success.
- Build a campus team to engage in assessment to gain the seal of Excelencia.

- Develop and conduct a quantitative and qualitative assessment that integrates belonging indicators to determine the baseline data for the current experiences of students.
- Identify gaps in student experiences and outcomes to develop data-informed strategies toward equity.
- Set aspirational goals to improve student experience.
- Cultural centers within EDI will develop quarterly reports that communicate progress on students success metrics (belonging, retention, graduation)

Cultivate a community that honors diverse lived experiences.
Key Strategies
- Leverage EDI marketing communications channels and events to cultivate rich experiences for the campus community.
- EDI centers to lead the university in celebration of heritage months by convening partners from across the university including Student Affairs Alumni Relations, academic and administrative units, Housing, J.W. Marriott Library, etc.
- Engage more students in the planning and execution of EDI signature events.
- Leverage EDI centers as affirming and welcoming spaces for diverse campus communities.

- Continue to host EDI signature events and programming that connect the campus to diverse community perspectives.
- Offer events monthly and activities in the EDI cultural centers that honor an array of student, staff, and faculty communities.
- Begin EDI centers redevelopment to equip centers to enhance efforts to meet the needs of the diverse campus community.
- Acknowledge religious holidays and observances and embed them into the academic calendar.

- Utilize the EDI annual event survey to measure the impact of the EDI events on students, faculty, and staff and integrate change to events based on feedback.
- Implement new EDI center strategies including equity and belonging measures and assessment.
